WP1 – ORIGIN, TRANSPORT, AND CYCLING OF C IN ACTIVE MAGMATIC SYSTEMS

This WP will investigate the processes governing C cycling in the mantle and its surface release via volcanoes. We want to understand how these processes modulate the Earth’s C cycle within the framework of global tectonics.

WP2 - ORIGIN, TRANSFER, FIXATION, AND OUTGASSING OF C IN ACTIVE NON-VOLCANIC SYSTEMS

WP2 will investigate the processes of C production, transfer, fixation and outgassing in different active collisional and extensional settings, and correlate the estimated carbon fluxes with those measured from springs and/or gaseous ground.

WP3 - DISSEMINATION AND COMMUNICATION

WP3 (all RUs) will be devoted to dissemination and communication of scientific results obtained by WP1 and WP2.

The objectives are:

Dissemination of research results to the scientific community at international and national meetings and to policy makers.
Publication of research results.
Promotion of internal and external networking and outreach activities.
